When We Gather

There is a great African Proverb that speaks to the speed at which we can travel alone & yet offers us a reminder that the distance can be much farther when we travel together. Community is an essential component of any successful transition. Community for me is formed when ever two or more gather.

This poem is my homage to this principle of being & doing: Gathering Together.

A Poem: When We Gather by Cathy Saunders

In this moment

As we gather

May we imbue our spirit

The essence of love

Revering the laws that have called us into presence

In this moment as we gather

May we open up, soften up, wake up, grow up, show up

In this moment may we play with our creative innocence

May we discover and unlock a third way

May we digest the polarities that are rich with wisdom

May we tune into the field of our shared lineage

May we lay down the weapons of old

Courageously release our grip on the story of once was

May we cherish the promise of the gestating call

May we enter the cave where we remember our sovereignty

Where we give rest & heart to dissolve the binds of separation and strife

May we inhale and exhale this one beautiful moment in all of its glory, Together.
